Salsa, Kizomba Dancing in Kuala Lumpur (KL) on Tuesdays at Havana Bar & Grill in Bukit Bintang

I recently visited Kuala Lumpur for work and I was looking all over the place for a place to dance Salsa. I ended up searching online and figured out that Havana Bar & Grill in Bukit Bintang Area has Salsa dancing on Tuesdays. Let me share my experience and how you can make it more productive.

What is the best time to go to Havana Bar in KL ? Kizomba Lesson

Well, I reached at 9:30 PM and it was late.  You should reach there at 8:30 PM, you know why ?  They have a free  Kizomba lesson from 8:30 to 9 PM and then they have a paid lesson for 25 Ringgit for one hour from 9 to 10 PM. I kind of missed that…I never danced Kizomba. The big drawback is that if you do not know Kizomba or have not taken lesson, you have to just sit when they play that music. So, I highly recommend that you go there on time to catch the lesson.

How is the Havana Club’s Dance Floor ?  Does it get crowded ?

The Havana club dance floor for Salsa and Kizomba is on the first floor. The dance floor is huge, I would say really big for a club and you have plenty of space to dance. It does get decently crowded, but not enough to step over each other. It was relatively not that crowded and I could get a table. It was nice for dancing !

How are the Dancers ? How is the overall crowd – are they friendly ?

Well, this is the first time I have been there and I was very welcomed there. I asked people to dance with me and they readily danced with me. No one said anything. very friendly crowd for dancing.  The crowd is very diverse, they have people from Malaysia, India, many Europeans too…so it is a very mixed crowd I would say. You can ask anyone and they will be more than happy to dance with you.  It is a nice club and people are not scary. It is also relatively safe place.

How late do they have it open ?  How long can you dance ?

The club is open till 3 AM I guess. I left at about 2ish. I heard that it would be open very late.

How to get there ?

It is is bukit bintang area. All you need to do is ask the taxi driver to take you to the area Changkat Bukit Bintang and Havana Club there. It is in the corner of one of the street ends.
